WHO WE ARE AND OUR AIMS

We are mothers from various areas of the legal industry who have felt a lack of support and understanding for mothers. We have decided to be proactive and bring these issues to light and provide support and guidance for both mothers and the companies supporting them.

Our main objective is to help mothers  'APPLI' themselves within the Legal Industry.

What is 'APPLI'?

Aspiration of members of the public and students who due to motherhood are discouraged from a career in law;

Preservation of existing members who feel or are forced to leave the legal profession when they become mothers and

Progression of mothers in the legal industry, ensuring motherhood is not what stands between them and a promotion.

Link mothers with mentors and services that can provide further support in developing a legal career.

Inform mothers on the various routes into law and how they can be supported in their career development.

WHAT WE DO

RAISE AWARENESS, CREATE CHANGE, PROVIDE SUPPORT

RAISING AWARENESS

The Industry Needs an Honest Conversation about Motherhood.

One of our goals is to ensure that we start having an honest and open conversation about the real impact of motherhood in the legal profession.  The good, the bad, and the ugly.

The constant need for us to prove ourselves as super women, juggling extremely demanding careers whilst full-time parenting, is just not sustainable.  We are losing incredible talent due to the impossible standard we hold ourselves and are held to.

We all know what mum guilt feels like and no matter how you decide to manage it, you can not escape it.

PROVIDING SUPPORT

Treat Others as You’d Like to Be Treated

One of our initial projects is to create a support network and mentoring scheme for mothers in the legal industry, regardless of if you are aspiring to the profession, simply attempting to preserve your position or looking to progress in your career there are a unique set of challenges faced by mothers that only other mothers will be able to support and guide you through, please get in touch to get involved.
